Safety is not a slogan at TOP GUN HD. It is how we protect our people, our clients, and the heavy-duty equipment that keeps Alberta moving. Every job is approached with clear procedures, proper training, and accountability from start to finish.
Family owned and operated, TOP GUN HD Mechanical started in the heart of Lac La Biche with a simple mission: keep trucks running and businesses moving. We understand the realities of working in remote locations, harsh climates, and high-risk industrial environments because we operate in them every day. That local experience shapes how we train our people, how we approach jobsite safety, and how we equip our service trucks to protect both our technicians and your equipment on every call.

Safety on an Alberta jobsite starts with trained people, not just policies. Every TOP GUN HD technician holds current certifications required for high-risk industrial environments, including H2S Alive, WHMIS, First Aid, Confined Space Entry, and Fall Protection. These are not box-checking credentials. They allow our team to safely access live sites, work around active operations, and perform repairs without putting crews, equipment, or production at risk.
Whether we are responding to a roadside breakdown or working inside an active plant or remote oilfield location, our technicians arrive ready to meet site safety requirements and work within your safety program from the moment they step out of the truck.
Deep knowledge of Alberta and federal safety regulations governing heavy-duty equipment, transportation, and industrial worksites.
Systematic approach to equipment handling
A disciplined, systems-based approach to equipment handling, hazard control, and workplace safety on every job.
Fully qualified heavy-duty technicians certified for both on-road and off-road mechanical work across Alberta’s industrial environments.
Safety at TOP GUN HD goes deeper than paperwork or checklists. It is built into how our technicians think, how they approach risk, and how every task is planned before work begins. From shop work to roadside and remote site service, we focus on keeping people safe, equipment protected, and operations running without unnecessary risk.
All team members are required to hold valid safety tickets for the following:
Every service call begins with a safety and hazard assessment. Before tools come out, our technicians evaluate the site, the equipment, and the surrounding environment. This allows us to identify risks such as stored energy, moving components, pressurized systems, unstable ground, traffic exposure, and environmental hazards.
By planning work before it starts, we reduce the chance of injury, equipment damage, or environmental incidents. It also helps ensure the job is completed efficiently and without surprises.
Whether work is performed in our shop, on a roadside, or at an active job site, the same safety standards apply. Work areas are kept clean, organized, and clearly controlled. Lockout procedures, proper lifting methods, fire safety, and safe equipment handling are part of every task.
Our technicians are trained to stop work if conditions are unsafe and to correct hazards before continuing. This protects both our team and our customers’ equipment.
Safety starts with training. TOP GUN HD invests in developing skilled heavy-duty technicians through structured apprenticeship and ongoing mentorship. Apprentices work under the supervision of experienced Red Seal technicians, learning proper procedures, safety standards, and best practices before performing critical tasks independently.
This approach ensures that safety, quality, and professionalism are passed on with every new technician who joins our team.
Our technicians are held to high professional and safety standards. Continuous training, safety refreshers, and compliance updates ensure our team stays current with evolving regulations and industry best practices.
From on-road trucks to heavy equipment, our technicians understand the risks involved in heavy-duty mechanical work and take responsibility for doing the job safely, correctly, and with respect for people and property.
Our entire team acknowledges safety as a top priority, necessitating regular drug and alcohol testing
for all roles classified as safety sensitive.
